Game Cheats

I love Age of Empires; it's a game that brings out the tactician in me, especially when I am playing other human players online. Gaming has become a part of the lives of millions the world over, and just like real sports winning is sometimes important. Like the great military general Sun Tzu once said

Command and Conquer 3: Kane

There's an undeniable appeal to the solidity on offer in Command and Conquer 3. It has that chunky and WHIRR-CLUNK feel we've come to expect. It might be intentionally dumb, and overly reliant on a template for RTS gaming that's now over 10 years old, but it still works.

Command and Conquer hums along like a well lubricated, crudely-supercharged engine, and you can't help enjoying yourself. So it's with a sense of inevitability that I judge this expansion to be not that great, safe in the knowledge that hardly anyone will care.

Command and Conquer fans are going to buy this whatever we say about it, and they probably won

Pairing Cheese and Wine

After taking my degree from the wine classes I have been following for a whole semester I do not consider myself to be an expert in wine consumption, but an amateur who likes to taste the unexpected. Our professor, a 35-years wine producer, was an extremely knowledgeable individual who managed to introduce a class of fourteen people to the proper wine drinking and the differences one should be aware of when tasting a new bottle of wine and tasting cheese. From the very first lesson, he served as wine and cheeses so as to familiarize us with the pairing of two ingredients that go so well together. In fact, as he supported, any season is appropriate for a cheese and wine party, particularly at this time of year where the need for a fast yet festive food and wine pairing is in order. But I was wondering which type of cheese should I serve with which wine?

If you have had the painful experience of attending the pairings of the uninformed and well intended, you know that boxed wine does not lend itself to a satisfying experience, even with those American cheese slices. In the chemical additive competition, it would be hard to determine, in fact, which one of these produced that post-party headache. But wine and cheese go together for more reasons than meet the eye. First of all, both are products of fermentation-wine is fermented grape juice and cheese is made from fermented milk. Second, both can express "terroir," or the taste of the place from which they come-wine expresses the roots of grapevines, while cheese the milk of animals. If one adds their shared ease of preparation, wine and cheese indeed go hand in hand -one hand holding the wine glass and the other the piece of cheese to accompany it.

But not all wines go with all cheeses. Due to their unique strong taste, cheeses different considerably and cannot be combined with any type of wine. The best way to get the feel is to explore the sensation of combining the two foods yourself. In fact, as our professor supported, "it's a veritable and delightful education for your mouth's palate." While he told us that Sauvignon Blanc is usually selected to accompany cheese, he firmly supported that the best wines for this kind of combination are those that are light and fruity. Finally, I advice you to select crisper and fruiter wines for white fresh cheese. Fatty cheese go best with rich wines or with light and zesty ones, salty cheese taste can be combined with sweet wines or high-acid ones, fruity red wines suit soft cheeses and dry sparkling wines are brilliant with a bloomy white rind. Finally the classic combination of Champagne and brie can always appear on your table.

Remember that the key to successful events is variety. Offering a wide range of both wines and cheeses will make your guest feel special and your party successful, interesting and enjoyable.

Beat The Budget Everyday Of The Week!

The recent budget has marked another increase in the price of wine in the United Kingdom. Although you can't get away with not paying tax altogether (unless you take a trip to your favourite wine's country of origin to buy it, which could be difficult if your favourite happens to be from the Southern hemisphere) there are ways of making sure you get the most for your money.

Using an online wine service is a great way to make the most of your pounds. You can research the wine online; saving you the time of wandering around a shop and the petrol it would take you to get to the shop in the first place. There is information on each wine, detailing what it tastes like, what it is ideally served with and where it comes from. Buying online means that you don't have to read the label of every bottle in a shop

Taste The Cava

Wine is an alcoholic beverage often made of fermented grape juice. The natural chemical balance of grapes is such that they can ferment without the addition of sugars, acids, enzymes or other nutrients.Wine is produced by fermenting crushed grapes using various types of yeast which consume the sugars found in the grapes and convert them into alcohol. Different varieties of grapes and strains of yeasts are used depending on the types of wine being produced. One of the wine produced by grapes is cava.

Cava is the main drink when it comes to Spanish toasting. This Spanish sparkling wine made by the champagne method. Cava is the official escort of the twelve grapes they swallow in the town square or in the Puerta del Sol every time the chimes of the clock sounds off at the stroke of midnight to signal New Years Day.

Cava, made by the Champagne method, is a good alternative to French champagne and, it should be said, much better value for money. Almost all cava is produced in Catalonia, especially the Pened

BYOB In The Philadelphia Suburbs

One of the joys of living in Philadelphia is being able to enjoy a charming and romantic restaurant in Chester County. If you have not ever visited one of these establishments, you have missed an experience that will not only impress you, but will make an impression on you. If you live in Philadelphia, or are in the area, these BYOBs are restaurants where you can take your own bottle of wine to compliment your dinner, which has long been a tradition in and around the city of brotherly love.

A romantic restaurant in the Philadelphia suburbs is like no other. Fine dining in West Chester is an experience that will take you away to the most memorable dining experience you can imagine. A BYOB in Chester County starts with the building. Most fine dining in the Philadelphia suburbs are situated in quaint, refurbished storefront type of edifices that have the personality that invites and lures you in to an atmosphere where you can relax with sparkling conversation and culinary delights.

The second detail you will notice about a BYOB in the Philadelphia Suburbs is the staff. They are knowledgeable, well dressed and provide excellent service. Also, because the BYOBs in West Chester are intimate, the staff even remembers your name. Finding the kind of service that fine dining in Chester County provides to its patrons is a quality that any romantic restaurant in West Chester is known for.

The ambience that the building and the staff create emulates the elegance of what makes a Gourmet Restaurant in Chester County so continually popular. Not quite pretentious and not quite trendy it is hard to pin down the formula that makes the charm of the establishments so elusive. One thing that is definite, though, is that a gourmet restaurant in West Chester always has a constantly changing and eclectic menu, but always delivers quality.

For example, French cuisine in the Philadelphia Suburbs is superb. Gift Baskets No Comparison To Fruitcakes Anymore

The gift baskets of the past were such a sorry excuse for a present that they were often included in jokes along with the standard fruitcakes. You do remember the old fruitcake jokes don't you? Of course, I may be dating myself here but anyway you look at it, this is definitely not the reality today. Gift baskets have really come into their own as well respected in the gift giving department. Due to the variety, quality and wide range of prices they have become quite popular as creative and thoughtful ways to express everything from well wishes to sympathy for those you care about.

So, if the image in your mind is that of a chintzy imitation wicker basket filled with semi rotten fruit then you haven't checked out the many shops available today both off line and online. The vast array of choices is fantastic and you can easily find something for every person and occasion you could possibly think of on your gift giving list. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Wine has become quite popular around the world so it's hard to go wrong when sending a wine basket. The nice thing about these is how personal you can actually make them. You can choose the type of wine you know the person truly enjoys or perhaps purchase a bottle from an expensive winery that you know they would love to try but would never spend that kind of money on themselves. This can make a very special treat for someone on either your personal or corporate list. Can you think of a better way to let someone know how much they are truly appreciated?

Don't forget when making your purchase to include some other delicious goodies, as everyone drinking a glass of their favorite wine needs a nibbler or two to go along with it. This is another place where you will need to put some thought into what this particular person would enjoy. If they are chocolate lovers you can't go wrong with an assortment of luscious gourmet chocolates and even if this is for a corporate recipient that you don't know very well, chocolate is still a great choice as most everyone loves chocolate especially the fancy gourmet varieties.

Of course, fancy fruits, cheese and crackers, or even caviar are other great selections to go along with your vintage bottle or any wine for that matter. You could also become quite creative by throwing in a book by their favorite author, a scented candle, aromatherapy or special spa items so they can truly relax and unwind with this unique idea that you have so thoughtful and creatively put together and delivered.

Now if you're thinking to yourself that these great tips won't work for the people on your list because they aren't wine drinkers, well think again because you can just substitute the wine in your hand selected gift basket with an assortment of gourmet coffees or fancy teas or there are even some great non-alcoholic beverage alternatives for you to choose from. Like I said these are fantastic presents due to the variety and creativity that can go into each and every one making them as unique as the person receiving them.

One last tip, there are hundreds of fantastic pre-made gift baskets available today for you to choose from with just such options already put together for you or if you don't find exactly what you need there are other services that will create whatever you special order and deliver it directly to that special someone on your gift giving list.

The Organic Chocolate Revolution The Amazing Lure of Chocolate

The cocoa industry in Venezuela is seeing a big comeback as farmers in that country are going organic. In recent years the news from Venezuela was more about oil and politics than anything else, however, chocolate is now taking over.

The price for organically grown cocoa products is nearly 4 times higher than non-organic cocoa. Organic cocoa is being bought for the high end single bean malt whiskies in Europe and the USA. In addition to growing cacao trees, the farmers in Venezuela are also producing their own chocolate.

Nearly half the day is spent nurturing the trees, protecting them from pests, insects and bad weather. Using only natural compost instead of man made fertilizers is twice the work, but well worth it to the Venezuelan cocoa farmers. The price of conventional cacao beans was $2.00 per kilogram, now they receive $7.00 per kilogram, quite an increase.

Their products are now sold directly to foreign chocolate manufacturers, eliminating the local intermediaries who have been priced out of the cacao market. Fifty families have banded together to create an association of organic cacao farmers.

The cacao seeds are fermented for six days in large wooden boxes then sun dried on the cement patio of the association building. After that they are cleaned, sorted, weighed and put into sacks ready for export. During the rainy season a flood can wipe out the entire crop a river bursting its banks can destroy several acres or trees in a few hours time.

In the last three years the annual cacao production has doubled, and the owners believe it is due to the conversion to organic farming. The majority of the funding to start this program came from the Venezuelan government who has provided 10 million dollars in research and training. In addition the European Union has been funding them through a non-government organization called Tierra Viva.

America, France and Italy are all purchasing organic beans in Venezuela, the single bean origin label denotes aroma and purity and only Venezuela can offer that at this time.

THE AMAZING LURE OF CHOCOLATE:

There are very few foods bring out the passion of chocolate, going beyond a love of sweetness as in most candies and desserts, not many people crave caramel, bubble gun or whipped cream. Chocolate is different, for a true chocoholic thinking about chocolate brings on a pleasurable reaction.

The first time I saw one of the yellow-green pods hanging from the trunk and large branches of a cacao tree, I was reminded of a movie about body snatchers, where pods were secretly placed in the vicinity of the victim and turned into the person, effectively snatching the persons personality. Cacao pods do look a little alien after all. The hand-sized pods, once stripped of their outer layer contain a sweet white pulp, which is the actual fruit of the cacao tree, cacao means food of the gods.

Inside the pulp you will find the seeds (a dark purple color) which are the basis for cocoa or chocolate. It is unusual for a person to get the pleasure of sampling the fruit of the cacao tree; it has a mild subtle chocolate flavor, slightly bittersweet. After drying and processing they are recognizable by any chocolate lover as chocolate beans.

A native of Central and South America, the cacao tree cultivated around the equator and is found in Africa, South-East Asia, the Caribbean and even in Samoa and New Guinea. Rorastero, which accounts for almost 90% of the worlds production of cacao beans, is the most common of the cacao trees.

The rarest and most highly valued is the Criollo cacao tree; their aroma and delicacy are sought out with care and great expense by the worlds best chocolate makers. Trinitario is a cross between the Rorastero and Criollo trees and is used by many of the leading chefs.

A Brief History About Budweiser

The name Budweiser in America, advertised as the King of Beers, has been a mainstay in today's culture. Almost toted as a 'rock' in its industrial strength, but is it a stalworthy as claimed?

It's always Lawyer Time in this little corner of beerland. Budweiser, the flagship beer of Anheuser-Busch and the best-selling brew in America, has been scrapping over the rights to its name for decades, and there's no sign of a letup anytime soon.

The Budweiser saga began in 1876, when the E. Anheuser Brewing Association of St. Louis, Missouri, introduced Budweiser Lager Beer. Founded in 1860 by Eberhard Anheuser, the company was renamed the Anheuser-Busch Brewing Association in 1879, recognizing the contribution and leadership of then president Adolphus Busch.

"Bud" was a hit. The decades flew by and Americans guzzled Budweiser by the barrelful (three million barrels per year by 1941, in fact). Americans continued to down Bud in massive quantities, and Budweiser became an American icon.

Meanwhile, in Czechoslovakia, trouble was brewing. It seems that when Eberhard Anheuser named his beer Budweiser, he was paying homage to the beer makers of a Czech town called Ceske Budejovice, known in Anheuser's native Germany as "Budweis." According to the folks in Budweis, their local beer has been known as Budweiser for several hundred years.

In 1895 the Czech brewery Budejovicky Pivovar (mercifully known as Budvar) began producing its own brew, marketing it under the name Budweiser Budvar, and the legal fireworks soon began.

In 1939, Anheuser-Busch and Budvar supposedly buried the trademark hatchet in the United States, giving AnheuserBusch the American rights to the name in exchange for Budvar's ownership of the name Budweiser in much of Europe. But as Anheuser-Busch expanded into and began to dominate international markets, skirmishing flared again. The Czechs even took offense at Budweiser's slogan "The King of Beers," noting that Budweis brewers had called their product "The Beer of Kings" since the sixteenth century. And Budvar partisans pointed out that A-B's Budweiser wasn't even legally considered beer in Germany, where the Reinheitsgebot (Beer Purity Regulations) dating back to 1516 strictly forbid the use of rice in brewing beer.

In recent years plucky Budvar has again won the right to use the names Budweiser and Bud in the European Union countries, but court cases continue to rage from Sweden to Hong Kong. Budvar's current tactic is to sell its beer in the United States as Czechvar, hoping that word of mouth about what they call (in a whisper, of course) "the real Budweiser" will win them the fame in U.S. bars that they have lost, at least for the moment, in the U.S. courts.

Maintaining a Safe Food Supply

Consumer concern about the safety of our food supply seems to be increasing on a daily basis. Americans watch in horror as some of the world's leading food companies have become entangled in a growing food-safety scandal traced back to milk ingredients from China. Concerns over imported ingredients surfaced again, when the Chinese government acknowledged widespread melamine contamination of infant formula for sale in China, resulting in four deaths and tens of thousands of very sick babies. It has become apparent that the problem included finished products containing milk-derived ingredients from China for sale in Asia and the South Pacific. Consumers are now asking questions about where companies buy the hundreds of ingredients in food products for sale in North America.

As well as concerns about food sources and problems arising from questionable ingredients, this past year has seen numerous recalls of food products due to bacterial contamination. Items such as ground beef, spinach, lettuce, frozen pizza, to name just a few, had to be pulled from the shelves and destroyed because they posed a serious public health risk. Recent outbreaks of salmonella in the food supply have brought the restaurant and foodservice industry into the news of late. Thousands of people have been sickened by consuming products that had been infected with dangerous bacteria such as e-coli and Listeria monocytogenes.

There are many ways that food can be contaminated with dangerous bacteria. Inadequate hygiene, cross-contamination, improper storage, and contamination of food by animal waste are some of the factors that can contribute to food borne illness. The common housefly is a particularly dangerous carrier of bacteria and other harmful micro-organisms. Flies can carry over 1 million bacteria on their legs and in their saliva. The pathogens that they carry can cause disease in animals and humans, such as cholera, dysentery, typhoid, hepatitis, and a host of food-borne diseases.

Flies are not only a nuisance pest but they are a carrier of disease and can harbor any one of over 100 different pathogenic organisms, including salmonella, staphylococcus and e-coli. Thankfully, some companies have begun offering fly control and fly extermination products to combat the problems associated with flies passing on illnesses and bacteria through food.

A fly can infect food merely by landing on it. The house fly and the horse fly are dangerous insects because they carry bacteria and disease from the most disgusting places onto food. They have the filthy habit of regurgitating food from their gut as they feed, and excreting faecal pellets onto food and onto food preparation surfaces. They are attracted by the odour of decaying organic matter where they breed and feed. An effective insect control system can drastically reduce the chance of food contamination by bacteria carrying houseflies. This is extremely important for restaurants, food manufacturers, livestock processors, grocery stores, and for anyone in the foodservices industry who is concerned about the health and safety of the products they sell.

While recent events have proven it is often difficult to know whether the food that we purchase is safe, consumers should know that the American food supply is the safest in the world. By reading product labels and practicing safe food handling techniques and proper sanitation, consumers can significantly decrease the chance of becoming sick from the food they eat.

Acne, Separating Fact from Fiction

If you suffer from acne, you sure have a problem on your hands, or rather your face, and possibly several other parts of your body. If you think you are up against a bad situation, you could not be more right. That does not sound too good, does it? But in case you are convinced that your problem could not get any worse, you could not be more wrong. And that, strange as it may sound, could be the best news about acne.

How come, you might say? Well, it is really quite simple. Of course you are not going to be particularly happy if you have a breakout of acne, probably, quite distressed, in fact. But there really is not any reason to panic. There is one golden rule you must never forget. To tackle your acne problem, it is absolutely vital that you get your facts in order. Nothing could be worse than getting hold of the wrong information on acne and convincing yourself that it is right.

Get the right information about acne. So there you are, try to relax, take a deep breath and get to work! Turn a deaf ear to all that chatter around you and seek out reliable information that will help you to solve your acne problem. Think positive and remember acne is more common than you realize and there is plenty of help at hand.

Some of the common myths about acne would have you believe facts that could not be further from the truth. Let us take a look at a few of them and see how far we have been steered off course. You may be surprised at some of the stuff you can be taken in by, driven by distress! Here goes:

Acne is a teenage problem: You could say this is the worst of the lot, because this is a belief that has misled so many people and caught them unawares. Even so, once again, you should know that this is not true. You could say instead that the teenage years are stressful because of the number of physical and psychological changes that young people are faced with at this time.

The fact is that acne can affect people of all ages, even later in life. It is just more evident in teenagers because of all the bodily changes they go through.

Acne is aggravated by a greasy diet: You may have heard this said pretty often, but you will be happy to know it is not true. Perhaps if you spent long hours working at a fast food restaurant, exposure to grease for long periods could have an adverse effect on your skin and bring on an eruption of acne.

Acne is related to hygiene: Here again is another statement that is not strictly true. You could say that if you do not keep your skin clean, the acne problem you already have could get worse. But then, excessive cleansing is not necessarily the answer. If you were to use harsh cleansers on your skin, you would irritate it and this could bring about an attack of acne.

Acne affects girls more often than boys: If you ever believed that, you are making a big mistake. In fact, if anything, it is the reverse that is true. This is because of the prevalence of the hormone androgen in boys, which makes their skin greasier and more susceptible to outbreaks of acne.

Acne is caused by stress: This is another statement that just is not true. Stress merely results in the secretion of certain hormones, which may make your acne problem more acute.

Acne is made worse by long hair: The only way you could argue the truth of this statement is in cases where long hair is not kept clean. There is no other connection between long hair and acne.

Acne is contagious: This statement again is equally untrue.

Well, hopefully, a number of your doubts and fears about acne have been laid to rest. So relax and accept your acne as normal. As long as you do not do anything bizarre, your acne problem will be no worse than most. Follow a healthy lifestyle, eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water and you should be just fine!

Your Acne Attitude

Acne dragging you down? Your acne problem is more than just an acne problem. To some extent, you make it what it is by the way you react to it. In other words, no two people have the same experience with acne, even if they have the same symptoms, because responses to the acne problem differ from person to person. And then again, the way you respond has a lot to do with your total experience with acne.

Buck up! It is only acne! For example, if you have a flippant, do not care attitude to your acne problem, chances are that you will not let it get you down. On the other hand, if you really allow your acne to upset you, you are likely to feel much worse about the problem, and may also build up stress. This in turn could prevent you from dealing effectively with your acne.

Be well informed about your acne. There are a number of factors that can affect your attitudes towards your acne problem. The most dangerous of these is the possibility that you may be misinformed about the nature of acne as a condition, and that you may believe facts that are simply not true. As a result, you may be ready to accept that acne is caused by eating fatty food or by dirt and grime.

Dissected further, it would be truer to say that keeping the skin clean would be good for general health and for the health of the skin itself. Acne would be less likely to develop when the skin is healthy.

Check out the facts about your acne. Go a step further and you may find yourself believing that scrubbing will get rid of your acne. This would in fact be disastrous, because skin that has been affected by acne is extremely sensitive and needs to be carefully handled. Scrubbing would actually make matters much worse by torturing the skin. It would also disturb any eruptions of acne, which could burst and spread the infection that was earlier contained within a cyst or lesion.

As far as greasy food is concerned, the fact is that food, greasy or otherwise, has nothing to do with acne. However, grease on the skin can clog pores and attract dirt, causing the pores to get infected. These conditions could ultimately result in the development of acne.

Media menace promise instant cures for acne. In the same way, there are various social attitudes that filter through. Advertisements play a major part in publicizing the attraction of having a perfect skin, citing cases of movie stars etc. Such gimmicks can play on our insecurities and have us believe that perhaps the advertisements are right.

Acne and peer pressure. Children in high school are particularly vulnerable to the information or misinformation they receive on the subject of acne. Because they are at an age when they are conscious of their appearance, they are ready to give in to peer pressure and go along with whatever they hear. The trouble is that what they are being told can sometimes do more harm than good.

Acne is upsetting - offer support as parents. It is therefore important for parents to offer the wisdom of their experience and put their children on the right track before they do something bizarre in the quest for a perfect skin. Parents should be aware of how acne develops, so that they can pass on this knowledge to their children and prevent them from going to extremes.

They may also be able to help their children realize that their acne is normal and should be treated as such, and that the development of acne is no tragedy. Adolescents and young adults could face their acne with confidence and the knowledge that in time, it would pass off, as long as they handled it right.

How To Benefit From Organic Exfoliation

There are a great number of exfoliates in many of the foods you eat. These can be canned or preserved, but they lose potency through the processes, much like they lose nutrients. By making the following recipes to enhance your organic skin care, you are adding the freshest possible exfoliates to your routine, which will give your skin an incredible look and feel. Remember to buy only organic ingredients for these recipes because you do not need your skin absorbing toxins from chemical pesticides and chemical fertilizers. That defeats the purpose!

Blemish Be Gone

This is a quick tip that will not only exfoliate, but will help fight blackheads

Slice one whole lemon. Rub one slice on any areas which are giving you trouble with blackheads (usually around and on the nose). The other slices should be used on dry body skin to exfoliate (soles, hands, elbows, knees). Then Shower!

Delete that Dry Skin

The following recipe can be mixed and stored in the refrigerator for a week to ten days. It can be used on the face or your entire body (of course, stay away from eyes and other sensitive areas). Use a Mason jar for storage. Blend ingredients, starting with the mango and adding them in the following order: mango, water, vinegar, honey and cornmeal.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons of organic honey

2 teaspoons organic cider vinegar

2 ripe organic mangos (peeled)

2 cups distilled water

Anti Aging Gracefully

According to online searches for anti aging remedies, there are a lot of us wanting to retain a youthful look!

Aging is inevitable. We'd all like to do so gracefully, and hopefully, retain at least some of our youthful appearance. In fact, there are many herbs and nutrients we can use to restore and keep a healthier and more youthful looking skin. Following an anti aging skin care strategy can also add years to your life! The herbalist uses a holistic, or whole body approach when recommending healing plants. The idea is that the apparent problem is usually only a symptom, not the cause. This is particularly evident in problems of the skin.

In the natural process of aging, skin loses elasticity, gravity pulls loose skin downward, and wrinkles start to appear. This process can be significantly slowed and in some cases, even reversed. Good nutrition is essential to any anti aging strategy. Due to poor commercial growing practices, it's difficult to get all the nutrients your body needs for optimum health. Supplements, in my opinion, are necessary to ensure adequate nutrition.

Three of the most important nutrients in any anti aging skin care program are Vitamins A, C, and E. These, in correct proportions and sufficient quantity, will restore elasticity and a supple, softer appearance to the skin. Zinc also plays an important role, optimizing assimilation of these vitamins. Apply Vitamin E oil topically to crows feet, forehead, lip lines, and other problem areas for remarkable results. The easiest method is to pierce the end of a Vitamin E gel cap, and simply squeeze the oil directly on the skin. It's quite sticky, but if you do this at bedtime, it's fairly well absorbed by morning. Cocoa butter is an excellent anti aging moisturizer. Applied to the skin on a daily basis brings wonderful results in just a couple of weeks. You'll see the difference! Papaya is a natural skin healer, used during the Civil War as a dressing for wounds. Papaya leaves are both antiseptic and promote new cell growth. Today, papaya is sold in tablet form, usually for indigestion. Make your own anti aging skin dressing: grind several tablets into a powder, adding a little water to make a paste. Apply directly to the skin, and leave on for about half an hour. Rinse off.

Another great natural product that promotes new cell growth is Aloe Vera, cream and serums that are made from the inner gel and unfiltered are best, if you want to go all the way you can also get drinking gel, which tastes disgusting but is a great benefit to you generally. The most cost effective skin care product there is that is so over looked is water. Water is one of the key elements that will truly help your skin. Go ahead and down 6-8 glasses of it each and every day. This will definitely slow the aging process.

Don't be a couch potato. Stay active and exercise regularly. Regular exercise gets your circulation going, and its anti aging effects will be visible on your skin. Your whole body will feel the difference. An anti aging strategy need not be difficult or time consuming. Just a few minutes effort each day works wonders.

Anti-Aging Skin Care Tips for Women In Their Thirties

If you've crossed that line into your thirties, you may have started to worry about how old you look. This is the point in your life where every fine line or even the hint of a developing crease or wrinkle has you fretting. Don't worry though, it's never too late to take care of your skin. The following tips will help your anti-aging efforts as you enter into the best years of your life.

Don't Smoke

Does this even need to be said? Unfortunately, judging by the number of women in their thirties who still light up, it does. Apparently the risk of cancer is not enough to convince many women to quit. Maybe if they knew how quickly the appearance of their skin is aging because of cigarettes, they might consider going cold turkey. Nothing puts wrinkles and creases on your face and steals the suppleness and glow of healthy skin like tobacco. If you smoke, nothing will improve your skin's health and appearance faster than quitting ASAP.

Another tip: If you don't smoke, but spend a lot of time around those who do, get away from them. Second hand smoke isn't helping you look any younger either.

Discover The Wonders Of Olive Oil

Sure, you can spend a lot of money on name-brand skin care products. You're a woman in her thirties though, and you're smart enough to look for more value for your shopping dollar. When it comes to skin care, nothing beats the price or effectiveness of quality olive oil. You can use it as a moisturizer directly on the skin. Others prefer to add a few tablespoons to the bath while they soak. Ask around, and you'll soon find that many women have already discovered how much of a difference using olive oil can make on their skin.

Respect The Sunshine

Maybe you spent a lot of time in your twenties working on the perfect tan. If you did, you may already have started seeing some of the long-term negative aging results of all that ultra-violet light on your skin. While it is important for your health to get at least a little bit of sunshine every day, you shouldn't be basking in it for hours at a time any more. Enjoy the sun, but stop baking your skin in it. Use sunblock if you're going to be outside for any length of time.

Remember, you don't need a tan to look young and healthy. Also, don't think for a moment that tanning booths are a safe alternative - they may still cause long term damage and cause the appearance of your skin to age much more rapidly then you'd like.

Enjoy your thirties and consider the above anti-aging skin care tips as you plan you daily routine. Don't worry about it too much though - worry itself can cause stress that will only add years to your face and could take years from your life.

Anti Aging Cream

With the current spotlight on youthfulness, it's hard to accept aging. No matter how old you are, inside your heart you still feel eighteen. The trouble is, appearance defies the inner you! Aging comes to all of us, but it need not be traumatic. Fortunately, there are steps you can take to retain your youth with anti aging cream. Some are simple applications of oils, while others involve recipes of various ingredients rivaling the most sophisticated concoctions you'll find at the cosmetic counter. You can whip up your own customized anti aging cream at little expense and with beautiful results. Let's take a look at some of these home made alternatives.

No matter what anti aging cream you choose, understand that diet, just like your mother told you, plays an important part in preventing aging skin. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables are essential, providing nutrients that slow aging of the skin. With proper diet and a good anti aging skin cream, you can take years off your apparent age.

Let's start with basic oils. Sweet almond oil softens the skin, as do avocado and jojoba oils. Sweet almond oil is good for less mature skin, protective yet light. If you're older, avocado and jojoba oil are ready to meet the task. Women in the South Pacific have been using avocado oil for centuries, and their skin reflects the care. Avocado oil is high in vitamin E, known to maintain and repair damaged skin. Jojoba oil is the older woman's best friend. A nightly application renders big results. Jojoba oil penetrates the skin overnight, with a soft and non-greasy result by morning, filling in those wrinkles for a much younger look when used as a daily regimen.

When searching out an anti aging cream that's right for you, consult with your herb dealer to find out the various effects each oil has on different skin conditions. Do some research to find out which oil is best suited to your age and skin condition. Many commercial creams contain cetyl alcohol, which has a drying effect and is often included to avoid the 'greasy' look. When buying a commercial preparation, notice the cetyl alcohol content overall. It's preferable that this be a minor ingredient, far down on the list of major ingredients.

A search on the net for anti aging cream recipes will yield a panoply of different ingredients in various proportions. Natural anti aging cream typically eliminates cetyl alcohol, as a counter productive ingredient. Cocoa butter, lanolin, and various oils usually predominate, with vitamin E, C, A, zinc and aloe included to support aging skin, restoring elasticity, softness and suppleness.

Papaya leaves are antiseptic and promote new cell growth, and available in tablet form. You can grind tablets into powder, mix with a bit of water and apply directly to your skin for a healthy, rejuvenating treatment.

Your anti aging cream can be just around the corner, customized to you, with a result you'll love!

Why Your Skin Needs Oil And What Happens Without It

Most people with acne think oil is the bad guy. They don't understand that our skin needs oil for protection and moisture. They don't understand it is trapped oil that creates acne. They wrongly believe it is the oil they can see and touch on the surface of their skin that is causing their acne.

So what happens? They think that if they can get rid of their oil, they will get rid of their acne.

Some not so great skincare product companies know this and then produce products which strip the skin of oil and promote them as 'acne cures'. Sure they make money but they don't help your skin.

Your skin is very intelligent. It knows it needs oil to live.

If you apply a product that strips your skin of oil, your sebum glands will go into shock and do one of two things;

1. Stop producing oil completely

2. Produce a splurge of oil

The first means there is nothing protecting your skin. All those dead skin cells can get inside your pores. As soon as your glands start producing again the oil will combine with the dead skin cells to make that lovely paste.

The second means there is a massive amount of stuff trying to get out a very small hole. Your gland will produce more oil than your pore can excrete and your pore will block.

Both result in more acne.

The most common ingredients in skincare products that strip the skin of oil are those that;

- Create lather

- Are based on alcohol

- Contain certain emulsifiers

Traditional foaming cleansers and bar soaps create a lovely lather when you rub your hands together. The ingredient that is creating the lather is normally some sort of detergent such as sodium lauryl sulfate and laureth sulfate.

These ingredients are cheap to manufacture and make a product seem nice to the consumer so they continue to be used. Whether a product is expensive or cheap, if it foams well, it probably contains a skin stripping detergent.

Another big baddie is alcohol based products. Alcohol is commonly used in products to dilute them, prevent the growth of bacteria or fungi in the bottle or to make your skin feel tight. Think toners that make your skin feel fresh and youthful. All that has happened here is the alcohol has stripped away all the oil and moisture and left your skin covered in dried up, dead skin cells.

As for emulsifiers, well sometimes they are necessary to bind the oil and water together in a product so that it does not separate in the bottle. However, and it's a big however, when applied to your skin, some emulsifiers try and bind together the oil on your skin to the water you are using to wash the product off. So when you wash the product off, all the oil on your skin goes with it.

The bad emulsifiers that are most common in skincare products are;

- Triethanolamine

- Oleth

- Peg ester (commonly called peg 20, peg 40)

- Castor oil

- Sterates

Stripping your skin of oil will only make your acne worse. If you own a product that does this, throw it out. If you are using regular soap on your acne, stop.

The Medical Spa Era

Welcome to the medical spa era. We now live in an age where the expectations of the consumer that seemed out of reach five years ago are now a reality. This is true in many aspects of our lives, but there are few industries where this has become more evident that in the field of skin care and anti-aging.

According to the 2002 US Census, more than $12 billion is spent each year on cosmetology services. As the baby boomer generation has begun to reach their fifties, the desire to fight the signs of aging has been elevated to an all time high. Consumers are eager for effective solutions to eliminate wrinkles, rejuvenate the skin and to maintain a youthful appearance. For many years the answer to these requests were either topical skin care treatments, such as lotions, potions, and peels, or surgery. Topical remedies typically only provide a minor amount of benefit, and surgical procedures may require anesthesia, extensive recovery time, and discomfort. Thanks to recent advances in technology, we now have a middle ground.

The missing void that we have needed for so very long in the skin care profession has been filled by the advent of medical aesthetic procedures. Medical aesthetics represents the union of medically based procedures to perform non-invasive cosmetic enhancements. What does that mean? It means more significant changes without the draw backs of surgery. It means that many of the skin care ailments that have plagued us for decades can now be resolved with the use of lasers or other energy based devices when placed in the hands of trained and skilled professionals.

Eliminating wrinkles, reducing cellulite, getting rid of unwanted hair forever, or taking off that tattoo with the name of your ex-boyfriend can now be accomplished, and these concepts are no longer science fiction. Where can one find a provider of such services? At your local medical spa. Until the advent of lasers there was really no good way to get rid of a spider vein without puncturing the skin or volunteering for surgery. Before radio frequency devices, the only solution to tightening up lax skin was to have it removed by a surgeon. Now these and the many other wonderful advanced skin care procedures can be performed on your lunch break at a mall or spa location near you.

The miracle that is the internet provides a medspa directory that offers contact information for the more than two thousand medical spas that are located across the country. You can also find reviews from peers who have had experiences with this new breed of cosmetology professional to help you to make an informed decision when selecting a provider.

The future is now, and the more you are able to learn about the solutions provided by medical spas, the more that you will likely find that there are ways to resolve everyday problems that were until recently unheard of. Consult a medspa directory today to start your journey towards the new you.

Among the various the skin-care tips taking of plentiful amount of water, eating fresh fruits and vegetables, taking exercise and rest is of prime importance. Besides these there are several other factors that people forget to remember and they are:

Avoid using strong soaps that may leave your skin dry. Also avoid jumping from one brand of soap to another. Continue using the same branded soap as long as possible. Always handle your skin delicately because rough handling will damage your skin. Never shave dry skin instead use press a warm wash clothe on your skin before shaving to soften the hair, or shave after a warm bath or shower. apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving and make sure to rinse your skin afterwards with warm water.

Ugg Boots, They May Sound Funny But They Feel Great

Did you know that Australian Sheepskin Ugg boots have always been called Ug, Ugh or Ugg boots and have been made in Australia for almost 200 years? "We always called them Uggs, Brian Smith says, "long before it was a trademarked brand." Brian Smith, Founder UGG Holdings, Inc. Los Angeles Magazine October 1st, 2001

The original Ugg Boot. "Ug", (also spelled "Ugg" and "Ugh" in Australian dictionaries) is not a brand name but an age old generic term for this style of Australian-made sheepskin boot. In Aussie slang, the Ug name is short for "ugly". In terms of comfort, however, the Ug Boot is a thing of beauty. The softness of the Australian Merino sheepskin produces a boot with a snug, cozy, form-fitting feel that's more like a sock than a shoe, yet it's rugged enough for outdoor wear. The fleece lining has the astonishing property of providing year-round comfort. In cold weather, the plush fleece provides an insulating layer of warmth by trapping your body heat, much like goose down does. But in the heat of summer, the natural fibers of the fleece actually cool your feet by wicking away perspiration.

By the 1970s, in Perth, the largest city on Australia's West Coast, Ug boots were being manufactured by several small companies in the area. Perth has much the same climate as Southern California and is also a haven for surfers, whom Aussies call "surfies". And it was the community of surfies at the great surfing beaches at Margaret River near Perth who first adopted Ug Boots as their footwear of choice and made them a symbol of the Aussie surfing lifestyle.

From the beaches of Western Australia, Uggs were soon seen on the feet of East Coast surfers from Brisbane to Sydney. And it wasn't long before some of these surfers, the ones who traded their surfboards for skis in the winter, found that their Ug Boots were just as at home in the ski resort areas of the Snowy Mountains as they were on the warm sands of Sydney's Bondi Beach.

It was Aussie surfers, traveling the world in search of the perfect wave, who first introduced their mates in Southern California to the pleasures of the Ug Boot. Ugs soon became a cult fashion among those L.A. surfers who could depend on a buddy "down under" to send them a pair of boots.

Today the Ug "secret" is out. You'll find these versatile boots to be in fashion on beaches from San Diego to Santa Cruz and in ski resorts from Tahoe to Vail. And today, you don't have to "know someone" in Australia who will send you a pair, since there are now a number of companies importing boots of this type. But, if you want the genuine article, you do have to know what you're looking for because, no matter how they spell it Ug, Ugg or Ugh there are several importers with look-alike products that fall short of being the real thing.

If you want genuine Ugg Boots, meaning well-made boots with all the qualities that made the original so desirable then you'll want to make sure that they have the following qualities.

The boots are made from 100% Australian Merino Sheepskin. This will ensure your purchase is made of the finest Sheepskin hide avaliable.

Beware of very cheap imitations. Quite a few boots on the market are made of cowhide suede with sewn on sheepskin inner fleece off cuts. Don't take the chance and purchase these boots, the external cow suede does not breathe like 100% sheepskin does and will leave you with a smelly sweaty boot. But I must say these boots do look like the real thing but just don't cut the mustard when compared to authentic Ugg boots.
